The usual bit: by default, everything on this site is copyright ©Alan Langford. All rights reserved.

The unusual bits:

  1. Unless otherwise noted images with a size of 1024 pixels or less on their longest edge are licensed CC BY-NC-ND: This license allows reusers to copy and distribute the material in any medium or format in unadapted form only, for noncommercial purposes only, and only so long as attribution is given to the creator. Specifically: a) Up-scaling the image is a derivative work and thus prohibited, and b) using an image as source material for an algorithm that produces different images is also prohibited, but it seems some groups need this to be made explicit, so there it is.
  2. In the unfortunate but inevitable event of my passing, all rights to everything I have produced and retain copyright for will be available under a CC-0 license (public domain) 25 years from the date of my death. This supersedes any legislative provisions and applies to all forms and transforms of the work, both current and future. This is intended to prevent corporate interests and future layabout heirs and assigns (all existing heirs show no evidence of being layabouts) from living off my work.
  3. This copyright policy is licensed CC-0. I encourage other creators to borrow and adapt it as they see fit. Creativity thrives when others can take inspiration from your work without fear of being attacked by a team of corporate lawyers. Absurd extensions in copyright term lengths benefit corporations, not creators. Fight back.
